BIOGRAPHY
Rose Hahn has worked in various art medias throughout her life, but in 1977 she chose fabric as a means to express her creative talents. She manipulates fabric the way she uses paint, using unexpected fabrics that make her fiber art look realistic. Rose lectures, teaches, judges and is a pattern designer for Hahn Enterprises. Many of her works have won numerous ribbons and awards, been exhibited in quilt shows, art galleries, and museums. Several are in private collections in the United States and Europe.
In 1992 Rose coordinated and designed quilts for the stage production of the “QUILTERS” at Frederick Community College in Frederick, MD. For the 250th year anniversary of Frederick County Maryland in 1999 she was commissioned to design two wall quilts for the County.
She has taught at the Virginia Quilt Museum, Harrisonburg, VA; Deleplaine Visual Arts Center, Frederick, MD; Virginia Consortium of Quilters seminars; Mid-Appalachian Quilters Inc. seminars: several local quilt shops in the Washington, DC, & Baltimore, MD area, and numerous quilt guilds in Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, New Jersey, and Washington, DC.
Rose is a member of the Virginia Consortium of Quilters, American Quilters Society, Mid-Appalachian Quilters Inc., Fiber Network, Delaplaine Visual Arts Center, and the Just Us Quilters Guild

LECTURES:
45 to 60 minutes in length are illustrated with 20-30 quilts; if travel is by air, lectures are illustrated with 8-10 quilts and slides.
In Rose’s Trunk – In this lite-hearted fun lecture I will share with you my twenty plus years of quilting. Starting with my first quilts, include my ups and downs, things I will never do again, my most resent quilt project, and some of what we all must have, a few UFOs.
Floral Realism – Floral appliqué quilts, the most popular of all quilts are what I enjoy making most. I will show how often overlooked and unexpected fabric can make realistic floral appliqué quilts. Illustrated with quilts along with some of the fabrics, which they were made from.
Painting with Fabrics - Lecture illustrates how the right fabric choices, threads, and additional embellishments can give depth and realism for landscape and still-life fabric art quilts. You will go away from this lecture looking at fabrics with a new eye.
